The 2023 Nobel Peace Prize has been awarded to Iranian physicist Narges Mohammadi.
She is recognized “for her fight against the oppression of women in Iran and her fight to promote human rights and freedom for all.”
Narges Mohammadi is the third physicist to have won the Nobel Peace Prize, following Andrei Sakharov in 1975 and Joseph Rotblat in 1995.
Her achievement highlights her significant contributions to human rights and the advancement of women’s rights in Iran.
India has maintained its 40th position out of 132 economies in the recently published Global Innovation Index (GII) 2023 by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). Over the past few years, India has consistently climbed the ranks in the GII, rising from 81st place in 2015 to its current position.
The Indian Navy is launching a program to connect with northeastern states, including a 6500 km Motor Car Expedition called “Hello Sikkim!” from INS Shivaji to Sikkim. The team includes women officers, highlighting women’s power, and aims to inspire Sikkim’s youth to join the defense services, raise maritime awareness, and contribute to nation-building.
The car rally, named “Khamree Mo Sikkim!” (Hello Sikkim!), was officially started on September 24, 2023, in Lonavala by Cmde Mohit Goel, NM, Commanding Officer of INS Shivaji. The rally is divided into three legs.
During the rally, participants will engage with students at various schools, interact with veterans, and conduct outreach programs and awareness drives. The expedition, spanning 22 days, is in partnership with Maruti Suzuki India Limited and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd as the fuel partner.
