India to host International Olympiad on Astronomy & Astrophysics in 2025

IOAA 2025:

  • India will host the 18th International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA) in August 2025.
  • The event will be held in Mumbai, with Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) leading the efforts.
  • The IOAA flag was formally handed over to the Indian team at the closing ceremony of IOAA 2024.

    Indian Team Achievements at IOAA 2024:
  • The 17th IOAA was held in Vassouras, Brazil.
  • Indian team won a total of 5 medals:
    • 1 Gold: Daksh
    • 4 Silver: Aayush, Banibrata, Panini, Sanidhya

      Other Olympiad Achievements:
  • 54th International Physics Olympiad (IPhO 2024):
    • Indian students secured 2 Gold and 3 Silver medals.
  • 56th International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO 2024):
    • Indian students won 1 Gold, 1 Bronze, and 2 Silver medals.
