IIT Jodhpur, NHAI sign MoU to share their expertise skills for betterment of Highway Infrastructure

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jodhpur and National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to share expertise for the betterment of highway infrastructure.The Signing of the MoU was held at IIT Jodhpur Campus in the presence of Santanu Chaudhury, Director of IIT Jodhpur, and Ajay Bishnoi, General Manager (Technical) and Project Director, NHAI, Project Implementation Unit (PIU) Jodhpur.

BSE Signed MoU with ICCI to support the Listing of SMEs & Start-ups

BSE signed a Memorandum of Understanding(MoU)with Inventivepreneur Chamber of Commerce & Industries (ICCI) to support Small and Medium Enterprises(SMEs) and start-ups & promote their listing on the exchange.BSE aims to give adequate exposure on the benefits of listing on exchange to SMEs and startups through ICCI. ICCI will support in evaluating the SMEs and startups for listing on BSE SME board.

Tanmay Srivastava, India Under-19 World Cup Winner Retires

Tanmay Manoj Srivastava, Uttar Pradesh batsman and who was part ofIndia’s Under-19 World Cup winning team in 2008announced his retirement from all forms of domestic cricket.
Currently, the top-order batsman will continue representing ONGC(Oil and Natural Gas Corporation), the company that gave him a sports-quota job as a teenager in 2007, in corporate tournaments

Lewis Hamilton wins Portugese GP; Overtakes Schumacher in Record 92nd F1 Victory

British Driver Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) won the 2020 Portugese Grand Prix held at Algarve International circuit, Portugal. With this win, Lewis Hamilton became the most successful driver of Formula One with92 wins.Finland driver Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes) finished second, while Netherland’s Max Verstappen (Red Bull Racing) finished third in the race. Hamilton has moved one ahead of Schumacher’s all time record of 91 wins.

Luis Arce Set to Become New President of Bolivia

Bolivia’s Supreme Electoral Tribunal formally announced that Luis Alberto “Lucho” Arce Catacora won the Presidential elections in Bolivia. Luis Arce will succeed Bolivia’s Interim President Jeanine Anez Chavez of the Democrat Social Movement Party.Luis’s Party Movement for Socialism (MAS) captured 55.1 % of votes and won the elections. Carlos Mesa, the Main Opposition Candidate who belongs to the Revolutionary Left Front Party (FRI) and contested the elections under the Citizen Community Party Alliance received 28.8 % of votes.He will take charge as President of Bolivia from 8th November, 2020.

Central Govt. Formulated High-level Committee Headed by PM Modi to Commemorate 400th Birth Anniversary of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur

Central government set up a high-level 70-member committee headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to commemorate the 400th birth anniversary of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur. The mandate of the committee includes approval of policies, plans, programmes and supervision and guiding the commemoration, besides deciding broad dates for detailed programmes of celebration.
Members of the committee include the following:

Indian-origin Wavel Ramkalawan Elected as Seychelles President; 1st Opposition Leader since 1977

India origin Wavel Ramkalawan, of the opposition Linyon Demokratik Seselwa (LDS) has been elected as the President of Seychelles by defeating incumbent Danny Faure of United Seychelles party. His great grandfather was an indentured labourer from Bihar.It should be noted that since 1977 it was for the first time that Seychelles got a leader from opposition party. Seychelles also elected an Indian-origin candidate, Sathya Naidu,to parliament.
