China to Join UN Arms Trade Treaty to Enhance World Peace

The Standing Committee of China’s National People’s Congress (NPC) has agreed to join the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty (UN-ATT) that is designed to control the flow of weapons into conflict zones. As a part of this treaty, China is committed to enhance peace and stability in the world.

Notably, China strictly controlled the export of military products as it only exports to sovereign countries and not to non-state actors.
As per Stockholm International Peace Research Institute’s (SIPRI) study in January 2020, China is the second largest arms producer in the world, behind the United States (US).

Karnataka Becomes the First State to Amend Industries (Facilitation) Act for Small, Medium and Large-scale Industries

The Karnataka Government amended the “ The Karnataka Industries(Facilitation) act, 2002”, in the state cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister of Karnataka BS Yediyurappa, to facilitate and attract investment in the state.
Objective of the Act:-
The act helps to make simple regulations and procedures for requirements, creating an ideal environment for investment.
Note:- Gujarat and Rajasthan are the only two states in the country that have amended the act (for small scale industries only). Karnataka amended the act for small, medium and large scale industries.

NITI Aayog Launched Behaviour Change Campaign, ‘Navigating the New Normal’,and Website

In order to aware people about the norms to contain the spread of Covid-19 in “Unlock” phase, NITI (National Institution for Transforming India) Aayog in partnership with Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), Centre for Social and Behavioural Change (CSBC) of Ashoka University, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), and Ministry of Women and Child Development (WCD) launched the behaviour change campaign ‘Navigating the New Normal’ and its website.

Atma Nirbhar Uttar Pradesh Rojgar Yojana was inaugurated by Shri Narendra Modi through video conferencing for migrant workers of Uttarpradesh. The local entrepreneurship will be promoted along with providing employment opportunities to migrant workers.

Yes Bank launches a digital wallet solution(app)‘Yuva Pay’ in partnership with UDMA Technologies Pvt Ltd to enable contactless payments for its customers.
ii.The wallet is issued under minimum Know Your Client (KYC) regulations.
iii.Features of Yuva Pay– Multi-Payment Option, Can be accessed on Smart & Feature phones, End to End Encryption with Multi-factor authentication which prevents hacking and Enables Privacy Protection.

the FIFA(Fédération Internationale de Football Association) Council voted over a video conference and handed the right to host the 2023 Women’s World Cup Football tournament, the first 32-team women’s championship to Australia and New Zealand. ii.This is the first Women’s World Cup to be hosted in the Asia-Pacific Region.
