Prime Minister Narendra Modi Launched ‘Kisan Suryoday Yojana’ for the farmers & Launched 2 other Projects in Gujarat
Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated 3 Key Projects in Gujarat.Gujarat Chief Minister, Vijay Rupani and Deputy Chief Minister, Nitin Patel were present during the virtual launch.
The Projects are:
i.Launching of Kisan Suryodaya Yojana(Electricity Scheme for Farmers)
ii.Inauguration of Paediatric Heart Hospitalattached with U.N Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre & Mobile Application for Tele-Cardiology.
iii.Inauguration of Girnar Ropeway, Junagadh.
UNESCO sites– Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park, Historic City of Ahmedabad, Rani-ki-Vav (the Queen’s Stepwell) .
National Parks– Gir National Park, Blackbuck National Park, Vansda National Park, Marine National Park.
India Meteorological Department Dedicated 1st “Flash Flood Guidance Services” for South Asia
India Meteorological Department (IMD) has dedicated first of its kind “Flash Flood Guidance services (FFGS)” for South Asian countries namely India, Bangladesh,Bhutan, Nepal and Sri Lanka to issue impact-based forecasting of floods.It was launched by Dr. M. Rajeevan, Secretary, Ministry of Earth Sciences, who was the chief guest of a virtual event which was attended by distinguished National and International dignitaries.It will provide the necessary products in real-time to support the development of warnings for flash floods about 6-12 hours in advance at the watershed level with resolution of 4km x 4km for the flash flood prone South Asian countries.

UP Emerge as Top Domestic Tourists Destination in 2019 & Secures 3rd Rank in Attracting Foreign Tourists in 2019: ITS 2020
As per, Ministry of Tourism annual publication titled, Uttar Pradesh(UP), tops the Domestic Tourist Visits list 2019, with ~53.6 crore tourists ( i.e., 23.1% of the total domestic tourists travellers visited in 2019). UP was followed by Tamil Nadu(~49.4 crore tourists) & Andhra Pradesh(~23.7 crore tourists).Similarly, in terms of Foreign Tourist Visits list 2019, TamilNadu tops the list, with ~ 68 lakh foreign tourists, i.e, 21.9 % of the total travellers visited in 2019. TamilNadu was followed by Maharashtra(~55 lakh tourists) and UP(~ 47 lakh tourists).

SBI Card and Payment Services ltd.(SBI Cards) in association with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) launched ‘Delhi Metro- SBI Card’, a Multipurpose Credit Card for Delhi Metro Commuters.The card functions as a credit card and also as a metro smart card.Mangu Singh, Managing Director(MD) of DMRC and Ashwini Kumar Tewari, MD & CEO(Chief Executive Officer) jointly launched the card in the presence of other senior officials from DMRC and SBI Card.

World Bank Sanctions approx Rs 3 crore for Goa to develop India’s first Sand Dune Parks
i.World Bank sanctions ~Rs 3 crore for Goa to develop India’s first sand dune parks as the World Bank (WB) has approved a proposal drafted by the Goa state biodiversity board for the same.
ii.The idea of parks to preserve sand dunes was first mooted by former National Institute of Oceanography (NIO) scientist and ex-member of the Goa State Biodiversity Board (GSBB) Antonio Mascaren who has been now appointed as the principal investigator for the project, with Dr. Pradip Sarmokadam acting as the co-investigator.
iii.As of now Mandrem, Miramar, Agonda Morjim and Galibaga are identified for sand dune parks. More beaches can be added in the list in future. Morjim and Galibaga beaches are known for their turtle-nesting site.

During a Bi-Monthly Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) 2020-2021 meeting Reserve Bank of India (RBI) announced to conduct on-tap targeted long-term repo operations (TLTRO) worth Rs 1 lakh crore with tenors of up to three years at a floating rate linked to the policy repo rate till March 31, 2021.

IIT Kharagpur & TCS Developed novel industry 4.0 Technology to set new trends in Advanced Manufacturing Sector of India
Indian Institute of Technology(IIT) Kharagpur in partnership with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS)developed a novel Industry 4.0 Technology for remotely controlled factory operations and real time quality correction during industrial production. This will set a new trend in the advanced manufacturing sector of India. The project was funded by the Department of Heavy Industry, Government of India and TCS.The technology was developed by Prof. Surjya K Pal, professor in-charge at the Centre of Excellence(CoE) in Advanced Manufacturing Technology.
i.The developed technology will acquire real time information on the welding process through the multiple sensors and through the cloud based communication with the stir welding machine it enables online control of the welding process.
ii.The technology’s concept can be evolved for a real time control of industrial processes and these works can be performed from a centre with other industrial partners.
Rattan Lal Kataria Launches Mobile App for Geo Tagging of Components of Projects under PMKSY-AIBP
Union Minister of State (MoS) for Jal Shakti, Rattan Lal Kataria launched a Mobile Applicationfor Geo Tagging of components of projects under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana-Accelerated Irrigation Benefits Programme (PMKSY-AIBP).The Ministry of Jal Shakti has developed the mobile application with the help of Bhaskaracharya National Institute of Space Applications & Geo-informatics (BISAG-N).
