Government launched Pre-Departure Orientation Training programme for Migrant workers

A Pre-Departure Orientation Training (PDOT) programme has been launched by Government to orient potential migrant workers with regard to culture, language, do’s and don’ts in the emigration process and safety measures.

This PDOT has been administered by the Ministry of External Affairs in alliance with the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE).
Pravasi Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PKVY)
Pravasi Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PKVY) is a skill development program for India Youth who are seeking overseas employment opportunities. It is implemented by National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).


2019 Asia LPG Summit organized by World LPG Association

n 5th of February, 2019, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister for petroleum and natural gas, inaugurated the 2019 Asia LPG summit in New Delhi.

This two-day event will focus on ‘LPG – Energy for Life.’ 

India is the second largest consumer of liquified natural gas (LPG) in the world under the flagship ‘Ujjwala’ scheme, and in take of  LPG in households is  providing access to cleaner cooking fuel .


‘Darwaza Band – Part 2’ campaign was launched by Swatch Bharat Mission Grameen

The “Darwaza Band- Part 2” campaign was launched by Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen focuses on sustaining the open defecation free status of villages across the country.

The campaign launched by the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation in Mumbai in the presence of actor Amitabh Bachchan.

Shri Babanrao Lonikar Maharashtra’s Minister for Water Supply and Sanitation and Shri Parameswaran Iyer Secretary, Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation  were also present.

The World Bank also supported the Darwaza Band -Part 2. Earlier Darwaza Band campaign was launched in 2017.

About Swachh Bharat Mission
The mission was launched in 2nd October 2014.
It has two sub mission

  • Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural) under ministry of drinking water and sanitation.
  • Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) under ministry of Urban Development

The basic objective is to provide sanitation facilities to every family, including toilets, solid and liquid waste disposal systems, village cleanliness and safe and adequate drinking water supply by 2nd October 2019.


‘Boeing 747-200’-Air India’s first ever Flight Simulator was exhibited in Nehru Science Centre, Mumbai

Air India’s First ever Flight Simulator known as ‘Boeing 747-200’ was exhibited in Nehru Science Centre,Mumbai.The Simulator was acquired by Air India in 1980,which is designed and manufactured by the CAE(Canadian Aviation Electronics),Canada.

The 21 years serviced Simulator is donated with a purpose to create awareness about the significance in the field of aviation among the public in general and students in particular.

Russia to develop new missile systems after nuclear treaty exit

Russia has said it is planning to develop new missile systems by 2021 after both Russia and the US suspended their involvement in the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty which banned both countries from stationing short and intermediate-range, land-based missiles in Europe. After suspending the treaty last week, Russia has said it’ll exit the deal in six months, following the US.

IBA issued advisory to waive off various charges for Kisan Credit Card

Indian Banking Association (IBA) has marked the advisory recommendations from banks to exempt farmers from processing, documentation, inspection, ledger folio charge and various service charges for Kisan Credit Card loans upto Rs. 3 Lakhs.

These guidelines came to highlight as nominal amount of charges were collected by some schedule commercial banks for agriculture loans.

April-December Fiscal Deficit touches 112% of Budget target

India’s fiscal deficit has touched 112% of the FY19 Budget target of Rs. 6.24 lakh crore during the period of 9 months from April to December 2018.

The data was presented by the Controller General of Accountant (CGA) which manifested that fiscal deficit of previous fiscal was 13.6%.

Fiscal deficit was at 7 lakh crores during this financial year. This is 112.4% of the Budget estimates for FY19, while for exact figures, it was 113.6% for 2017-2018.



Smriti Mandhana scores fastest T20I fifty

India’s opening batswoman Smriti Mandhana striked to be the fastest fifty for India in Women’s T20Is.

She struck a half century in  24 balls in the 1st T20I against New Zealand at Westpac Stadium in Wellington. 

Smriti Mandhana is entitled in the 6th position in the list of fastest fifties,whereas New Zealand’s Sophie Devine leads the record of the quickest half century in women’s T20Is.
She have set the record in 2005 against India when she struck fifty in 18 balls.

He will succeed Rajiv Nayan Choubey who retired on January 31,2019,after the resignation he took over as member in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).


Fino Payments Bank and Suryoday Small Finance Bank come together offer sweep account facility

Fino Payments banks announced the launch of a sweep account facility in association with Suryoday Small Finance Bank.

As per Reserve Bank of India, Payments banks can only take deposits upto ₹ 1 lakhs but this partnership will allow customer to seamlessly transfer the excess amount from their Fino payment bank (FPB) account to Suryoday Small Finance bank (SSFB) account.

Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana app launched

World’s largest cashless health insurance scheme “ the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY)”, popularly known as the Ayushman Bharat launched  PM-JAY app on Google play store to access scheme details in New Delhi. It was launched by Indu Bhushan ,CEO of  PM-JAY.

This scheme aims at making interventions in primary, secondary and tertiary care systems, covering both preventive and promotive health, to address healthcare holistically.


India’s 40th Communication Satellite, GSAT-31 has been successfully launched from French Guiana

Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) successfully launched its 40th communication satellite “GSAT-31” from French Guiana by Arianespace launch vehicle.

GSAT-31 will enlarge the Ku-band transponder capacity in geostationary orbit and will bestow the linkage to operational services on some of the in-orbit satellites.

GSAT-31 will be beneficial for Television related up-links, connectivity, services, cellular backhaul connectivity, etc.
